I’m actually enjoying this snow day because I plan on being lazy today and reading! So, for those of you contemplating on watching the news the whole day to get the latest and greatest on the blizzard and noshing on junk, I recommend that you instead spend some time on ordering some great food must-reads.
Here are some of my favorites (and yes, I’m repeating myself on the Michael Pollan books…):
· Food Rules: An Eater's Manual by Michael Pollan
· In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto by Michael Pollan
· The Omnivore's Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals by Michael Pollan
· Real Food: What to Eat and Why by Nina Planck
· The Art of Simple Food: Notes, Lessons, and Recipes from a Delicious Revolution by Alice Waters
· Nourishing Traditions: The Cookbook That Challenges Politically Correct Nutrition and the Diet Dictocrats by Sally Enig and Mary Fallon
· Mastering the Art of French Cooking, Vol. 1 by Julia Child and Simone Beck
Make yourself a nice cup of hot chocolate or cup of warm tea and enjoy! Most importantly, this will keep you safe in two aspects: 1) off the roads and 2) away from junk food…
